ASTAD Online Bible

Welcome

If you want a full audio Bible, this can be found for free online via excellent sites such as Bible Gateway. There are several translations, such as NIV UK version, brilliantly read by David Suchet (here is a link to Matthew 1). The readings on this site have been produced by members of Thorpe Acre church (see background, below), are from a variety of translations - mainly NIV - and are intended for use by the congregation while COVID-19 precautions are still in effect.

Background

At the beginning of lockdown, in March 2020, we put an audio service of morning prayer online. This was the same service each day but the readings followed the Church of England lectionary. As we began opening the church building again on a regular basis, we moved to daily readings working through different books of the Bible and, now there is more activity at the church, we are bringing the daily releases to an end.

However, this leaves us with a wealth of readings from familiar voices in our congregation. While some of us are unable to attend meetings in the church, we would like to keep the readings available to offer support and comfort and also see if they find other uses. Comments should be sent to our worship pastor, Wulf, via music@astad.org.
